I took an 11 hour bus ride from El Salvador to Managua yesterday.  It was a nice air-conditioned bus and the ride was actually quite pleasant.  All is well in Managua.  As empty as San Salvador was of tourists, Managua is as full of peace corps.  There are 100 peace corp volunteers in training who are staying in my hostel or the adjacent hostels.  Managua is not the pretty city, but I kind of like it. 

I emailed someone that I was in El Salvador and she accused me of being a political activist.  Political activist?  Hardly...  I'm just down here searching for adventure and trying to pick up the occasional peace corp girl.  :)

I drank a bit with the peace corp last night.  Tonight it is probably the same, unless I get motivated to head over to the local pool hall/bar and see what happens. 

Tomorrow I am flying off to the the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua - Bluefields and then at some point I am continuing on to the Corn Islands.  There is a possibility if I like it there I will stay for a little while and get dive certified.  The problem of course is that you are not supposed to drink the day before if you are diving in the morning.  Can I spend 3 or 4 days without drinking on vacation??  Vote here drink or dive.
